Jenna Cole is a pretty sweet gal! She's also SUPER BLOGGER extraordinaire! Her posts cover general life, photography and everything in between. Actually I would seriously call her a bloggin' expert. What an honor to see my site on her blogroll - yaah! We recently collaborated on a custom slipcover project for her gorgeous studio sample album. We hosted our first Design-A-Slipcover Contest recently to find an awesome creation designed by my awesome clients, you guys! It was a tough decision, so I recruited Mr. Q and my awesome Mama to assist me in choosing. It was a close competition but this slipcover just stole our hearts! It's named The Essential after photog Kristen Kalp with Essential Imagery. She is an absolutely inspiring photographer of feisty images for the whole family! Louis Torres is not only NY photog extraordinaire, but also a fan-ta-bulous help to photographers everywhere. ForWeddingPhotographers.com is a website with multiple resources. Check out my favorite, his awesome podcasts aimed at encouraging and empowering photographers. He also has a new company for album designs, Red Filter (can we say multi-tasker!!!). Reading up about Stephanie Hunter from good ol' Texas feels like home. After reading the bio on her blog, I ran to Ben Q. to let him know she was a self-taught photog just like we are. I don't know why, but it always still excites me! From the first email correspondence, I knew I would love her. Show some blog love for this fabulous gal!

ChrysQ Winter Workshop

After many emails and inquiries about hosting a workshop, we finally decided to do so on 12.28.09. It went absolutely fantastic! 20 photographers registered and came out and shot the catalog right along with us. We went over our lighting and setup techniques and did an awesome post-production session at Forbeyon Albums in Dallas. We're so pleased that many of our attendees have blogged about the event and posted some awesome images. Check out the posts below:

So excited that the winner of our Totally Rad Actions and ChrysQ contest was none other than Petra Hall from Sweden. She is truly a photography inspiration and a pretty rad gal too! She is a friend to so many and her reputation is worldwide. Check out how she won here and what she won here. Here is a translation of what's written on her blog:

"My preciousssss!
A month ago I won a contest at the very cool blog Totally Rad Blog with a submission on how to create a suntan. The prize was a bag, or rather a "slipcover" for photo albums that the incredible talented ChrysQ designed (it's btw Chrys herself that models on her website, photo's taken by her talented husband Ben).
When I saw the summer models I fell for this beautiful thing in white and silver. And Chrys told me I could choose any size I wanted, different details, etc. As I don't have any photo albums to show, I asked if it was ok to make a cover for my laptop instead. Chrys said she'd design something that would fit my wishes and she'd even put on a shoulder strap.
After a few rounds at the customs (typical!) the bag eventually arrived today and I picked it up at the post office and took a few quick photo's (it's hard to use a remote trigger btw), to show what a gorgeous thing that is now mine. I can't complain on the quality at all, it's very well made and gorgeous in every way and I really think this model fits my laptop perfectly. And then you can almost die of happiness over the dotted inside. How cute is that?!

Rich and Heather Smith are one of my favorite H/W teams out in Tennessee! They are super sweet, super talented and have a super cute baby girl (about the same age as my cutie).
